Dance Lessons Could Keep You Two Steps Ahead of Memory Loss, Study Suggests
Kicking up your heels in a dance class may actually be good for your brain's memory function, according to a newly published study. Dance lessons, in particular - perhaps because they incorporate exercise, social interaction and learning - have a positive effect on a brain region called the fornix, said the study's author, Aga Burzynska, an assistant professor in Colorado State University's human development and family studies department.
